RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP.

After speaking to Ian last week I've started to look at music by artists that worked with the BBC in the late 50's creating weird and wonderful analogue sounds. Some of the most famous works by the Radiophonic Workshop was the original Doctor Who them tune. The work by Raymond Scott was definitely ahead of its time and doesn't sound like it would stand out against some present music. Delia Derbyshire's work is much more experimental and seems to have less of a structure to it. When I've been thinking about the work I'm doing at the moment I think her music fits better with the imagery I'm hoping to achieve. I'm definitely going to give Scott another listen though, some of his pieces are dead good.
